Keepin’ headz fed is my third effort, and first album that truly felt complete. Until this point, all of my recording had been done on my own, on acid pro and sound forge. I was just making music as I went along, with no real plan. I was living moment to moment. Previously, I mainly messed around with fruity loops for beat making. My microphone was a pencil microphone, and after that it was a headset. Eventually I did acquire two Technics 1200 turntables, a vestax Pro II mixer, and an MPC 2500, but the mastering of that equipment was still years away.
I was however, starting to work with a couple of guys from Toronto and Barrie, and that led me to recording this album at the L.O.D. Development studio. L.O.D. Development was a label owned and operated by Absent minded ( IG – @Atwellmusic). Absent minded was well on his way to becoming an award winning producer and rapper in Toronto when I met him, and already had L.O.D Development on the go. The two of us would work together for years to come, on multiple projects. This would stand as our first release together under his label.
L.O.D. Development, and the studio, were exactly what I needed to take my growth to that next level. I went from pencil microphones, headsets and desktop speakers, to a vocal booth, condensed audio, and pro software. The change in audio and vocal quality is obvious when you compare any of my previous work to songs on this album. I travelled down to the studio and recorded the entire album in a single weekend. The following weeks Absent Minded mixed and mastered everything and I was very impressed with the end result.
(IG @blahblo.picasso) Provided me with the artwork for this album. Absent minded handled all recordings, mixing, and mastering at the L.O.D. studio, he also produced a beat and has a verse featured on the album. The rapper/producer Benefit (IG @Benefitofficial) produced a beat for me on the album, and just like my previous releases, the producers: Jaks, Orthodox and n8SUM contributed beats to the project. Elite also provided a beat and did cuts/scratches on it. This album also featured J.Mong singing a hook. I was also very fortunate to have world renown, and championship level beat boxer POIZUNUS, feature on a few tracks, as well as do the intro and outro on this project.
NOTE – THIS ALBUM IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN MP3 FORMAT*
